Perry the Platypus Pattern

Heres the pattern! The first of many to post, i hope...
I seriously have no idea where to file this, so if its in the wrong place, let me know!

Perry the Platypus

Materials:
3 ¾ mm needles
Blue-green wool (MC)
Yellow wool
Brown wool
Scrap black and white


Body:
In MC, CO 12 and work in st-st throughout
Work 12 rows
At beg of next row, CO 36 sts (48)
Work 24 rows
Loosely BO 33 sts (15)
Work 12 rows then BO

Back legs (x2):
In MC, CO 15 and work in st-st throughout
Work 6 rows
K2tog/P2tog at beg and end of each row till 5 sts remain
Change to yellow
*K1, inc 1, knit to last sts, inc 1
Purl*
Repeat * to * until 9 sts remain
Work 4 rows
K3tog, cut yarn and reattach by knitting into the first st then sliding back onto the left needle, k3tog and repeat.

Front legs (x2):
With MC, CO 8 and work in st-st throughout
Work 8 rows
K2tog at beg and end of row
P2tog at beg and end of row

Tail
With brown, CO 6 and work in st-st throughout
Work 6 rows
Inc 1 st at each end (8)
Work 5 rows
Loosely BO

Beak:
CO 8sts
Work 10 rows
dec 1 st either side
BO

To make:
Sew body into oblong with the larger end being reserved for the head-end. Sew leg seams in front legs and attach. For hind legs, sew MC part of leg but leave foot free, tuck in strands exaggerating the toes.
Attach beak to face, embroider eyes and a few strands of hair.
Attach tail, wrong side up.
